St.
George's Day 2009
And here's a few of your St George's Day greetings and how you were celebrating 2009 (it looks like the Barclays Annual General Shareholder's Meeting in Westminster was the place to be!!).
In no particular order.....
A great st George's day in Coventry - We celebrated St George's Day by meeting old friends in the city centre of Coventry where we live. It was great to see all the people enjoying the live entertainment in the sunshine, our next stop was to the Royal Warwicks Old Comrades Club. All in all it was a great St George's Day for me and my family - Derek Murphy

I put on my white Tshirt with an England image on the front and set off for the Barclays Annual General Shareholder's Meeting in Westminster. Jumping on the underground train as the doors close a man thumped me on the back and growled "Nice T-shirt". He and his companion were wearing dark suits with St George badges. While in the centre of London I would have been seen by several hundred people, none with any similar garb. There were many public buildings flying flags, all but three being Union Flags, and one of the 3 others being Scottish. So a miserable 2 COSG flags, one being Westminster Abbey. In the past I have encourage local pubs to recognise the day. I did not this time but they did it anyway in a small way. One restaurant had COSG bunting. So a minor improvement here on last year as Kings Cross becomes more respectable. There was a picture of Boris plus flag in the London papers. So that is the London scene - Chris
Happy St Georges Day to you all
Simon, Yvonne, Liam, Ross & Haig.
Happy St George's Day! Waes hael from North Carolina! - Gardner Berry
Happy St George’s Day to everyone - Edward
A belated Happy St George's Day to you all. We’ve just spent a few days in Keswick where the town was a sea of flags and today was given over to special celebrations. It seems the day is being transformed throughout England after years of almost silence - All good wishes - Tom

I organised a very successful lunch at The George Hotel in Robertsbridge East Sussex but when I arrived home Deal, No Deal was on Channel Four with Noel Edmonds. When it was St P's day they were all bedecked in green things etc. There was no recognition for St G. How do we make our point - John F Smith

I have lived in Upstate New York for a few years and organised a St George's Day Party for the local Brits and partners held in my house - Garth
All the best to all at WATE. Keep up the good work and happy St George's Day - Jaimie
Down the Pheasant Inn, Radford, Nottingham. It gets bigger every year and starts with a St George's Day march around the local area. It was interupted this year by a load of the local Polish lads throwing eggs at the marchers. Sign of the times I suppose. A god day was had by all anyway - Dave, Notts
All the lads took the day off as usual and we went on our annual St George's Day pub crawl ending up back at th local for a St George's party, quiz and traditional bangers and mash - Steve W
